About the Opportunity

Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and high-performance data solutions. You will design and build data pipelines, ensuring the integration, security, and reliability of data from various sources to meet the needs of internal and external applications, as well as to support advanced analytics and strategic business decision-making.

As a Tech Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and applying Quality Assurance (QA) processes, supporting analysts by suggesting best practices, resolving operational issues, and serving as the technical leadership for the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Ingest and integrate data from various sources (relational and NoSQL databases, internal and external service APIs, files, etc.), ensuring data quality and consistency.

• Implement data storage solutions (Data Warehouses, Data Lakes) and optimize query performance and data processing.

• Manage data loading into distributed storage systems (both relational and non-relational).

• Aggregate data using distributed tools capable of handling large data volumes.

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and efficient data pipelines (ELT) using data engineering best practices.

• Ensure the entire ELT process is functioning properly through monitoring and metrics like SLA.

• Monitor the execution of ELT processes hosted in the cloud and on-premises.

• Ensure data security and governance by implementing access control and data quality policies.

• Provision and/or maintain data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, availability, and security.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

• Disseminate DevOps and DataOps best practices within the team.

• Collaborate with teams to provide data solutions that meet business needs.

• Research and implement new technologies and tools to improve the efficiency and scalability of data solutions.

• Have the autonomy and critical thinking to propose and challenge solutions related to data engineering.

• Document processes, architectures, and data solutions.

• Build and manage real-time data pipelines (streaming).

• Develop and apply Quality Assurance processes.

• Provide support to analysts and other leadership members, suggesting best practices and resolving operational issues.

• Responsible for Request for Comments (RFC) processes.

• Standardize methodologies and tools.

• Audit the technical quality of projects within the teams.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Solid experience with programming languages (preferably Python).

• Databricks: Advanced knowledge of the platform.

• SQL: Advanced mastery for manipulating and analyzing large volumes of data.

• Version Control: Advanced experience with Git (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).

• Algorithms: Solid knowledge of algorithms and data structures applied to performance optimization.

• Data Warehousing: Experience working with tools like Google BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake.

• Infrastructure & Cloud: Advanced experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP).

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform.

• Proven experience with cloud data processing (Azure, Snowflake, or Databricks).

• English: Advanced level.

Nice to haves

• Big Data Ecosystem: Experience with Spark.

• dbt: Advanced knowledge of the tool for data modeling and transformation.

• Databricks Certifications: Data Engineer Professional level.

• dbt Certifications: dbt Developer or dbt Architect level.

• Cloud Certifications: Professional/Specialty level or equivalent (AWS Certified Data Engineer, Google Professional Data Engineer, etc.).

• Academic/Technical Certifications: High-level certifications specifically focused on Algorithms and Data Structures.
